You want me to feel compassion for a man who said he would tell a driver who refused to drive after Romain’s Bahrain crash that they would be out of a seat? He has no compassion, understanding or even empathy towards anyone.

If people are traumatised after seeing their colleague in what could have been a fatal accident? Well then they don’t deserve their F1 seat. If someone pisses him off? Well he’ll just call them a “mongol” and a “retard” and then he’ll say “not my problem” after being called out for it and then ignore it when a whole organisation calls him out on his ableism and discrimination. This is the man you want me to have sympathy for?

This is the man who brake-tested his colleague. This is the man who acted as the paragon of a victim after Silverstone and when he had the opportunity to lead by example said “that’s what you get”.

This is the man you want me to have compassion for? The man who didn’t care about what Lance Stroll must have felt, what Romain Grosjean felt, or what Lewis Hamilton felt.

Mental health is a real issue that affects many and it’s a shame that when Helmut Mark talks about how Max felt exhausted his fans go to defend him, talk about how we’re fucked up for not caring. But it’s incredibly difficult to give a shit because where were RBR, where were you guys, when all this crap happened to Lewis, Romain, Lance, Mongolian people, people with Down Syndrome. Helmut doesn’t get to say Max was exhausted and expect compassion.

Especially because Helmut’s the guy who incited racist abuse towards Lewis after Silverstone. Christian’s the guy who apologised for it but then said ‘oh but max also got hate right after’ as if to say Max’s hate was even comparable to the racism. Helmut was the guy who said ‘well actually we have data that shows max didn’t brake-test lewis’ but then it was proved Max did brake-test Lewis. Also didn’t Helmut accuse Lewis of consuming performance enhancing drugs - but I guess those things just aren’t mentally traumatic enough for you guys to feel sympathy/compassion.

I guess the sympathy/compassion and mental health talk only happens when Max is exhausted. But then when Romain’s accident isn’t even seen as traumatic enough to warrant missing a race (Tell that to his wife and kids - I dare you) mental health isn’t a thing. And when Lance gets called a “Mongol” and a “Retard” it doesn’t really matter what he’s thinking about it. Oh and look Lewis is being racially abused on Twitter and Instagram and Reddit and 200,000 posts had to be removed and Instagram had to be involved to remove posts but I guess that doesn’t really affect mental health does it? Oh look “Mongol” is a ableist slur towards people with down syndrome in Dutch cultures (Oh but that’s just his culture  - he’s Dutch, they’re very straightforward and blunt you know) so I guess let’s not talk about the mental health of these people with Down Syndrome because that’s just his culture. Aww he’s feeling exhaustion - HOW DARE THEY NOT HAVE SYMPATHY FOR HIM!! HOW DARE TEAMLH IGNORE HIS EXHAUSTION!! No, how dare you guys ignore Max’s ableism and sexism.

You don’t get to say he’s exhausted and then expect compassion. Because where was your compassion, where was his compassion, where was RBR’s compassion for Romain, Lance, and Lewis.

but in all honesty the fizzy drinks team and their armada are truly horrible. to take lewis' miraculous win at his home grand prix despite driving a tractor, being on a losing streak and getting that penalty and make him feel like he can't even celebrate it because of an unfortunate crash is just sick.

this win meant so much to lewis and team lh after the disasterclass streak mercedes have been on and to now suddenly drop an "aggressive dangerous driver" narrative into the mix on an evening when we should be happy is just low. i'm glad we have a summer break because lewis deserves being as far away from christian "where's the manager" horner & co for as long as possible. rest easy king, i'll be waiting.

REVISIT

earlier today, the world (or at least the internet) has finally heard from @paradisefears again and my heart is glad. Glad is actually an understatement because I just totally lost it after reading this:

“this thing that we built— you & us together— is far too beautiful & rare to ever stop. we couldn’t stop being a part of it if we tried. we care too much about these songs, & the people they introduced us to; as long as the six of us exist, there will always be a paradise fears.”

aljflaskdfjajfcrijfsjvscperjfscoeirjseorivsdlv. Okay I’m calm.

I couldn’t stress my love for this band and their music enough. Their lyrics will always be my go-to in joy and sadness and if I ever feel the need to doodle stuff on my notes. I’m pretty sure I enjoyed this whole typography/calligraphy business because I had too much quotable lyrics from these guys. So….. posting this compilation of all the PF-related works I’m proud of (there’s a whole lot more than this, believe me) to celebrate this glorious day. I love you PF, can’t wait to hear more from you. Go fill up those shelves ♡🐢
